Become a Volunteer Driver with Métis Child, Family, and Community Services!
Looking for a way to make a real difference in the lives of Métis children and families? MCFCS is seeking Volunteer Drivers to help transport children to family visits, therapy, and other essential appointments.
About the Role
As a Volunteer Driver, you will:
✔ Transport children to scheduled visits and appointments
✔ Have free time for personal errands while waiting for pick-up time
✔ Communicate with children and families in a respectful manner
✔ Work under the direction of the Transportation Coordinator
What You Need
🚘 A reliable vehicle with a back seat and the required seat belts
📜 Satisfactory results from:
- Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) – fee waived if applying through RCMP
- Child Abuse Registry Check
- Prior Contact Check
- Driver’s Abstract
📅 Flexibility to accommodate changing schedules
✅ A valid Manitoba driver’s license

Student Placement Opportunities

Student Placement Opportunities at Métis Child, Family, and Community Services
Are you a student looking for hands-on experience in social services? MCFCS offers structured student placement opportunities for individuals enrolled in relevant academic programs. Gain valuable experience while contributing to the well-being of Métis children and families.
How to Apply
- Submit an Inquiry
- Contact HR: Email HR@metiscfs.mb.ca for placement inquiries.
- Response Time: Expect a reply within 3-5 business days.
- Required Documents:
- Completed Student Placement Request Form (Contact HR to request)
- Student resume
- Letters of recommendation
- Academic transcripts
- Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, students must:
- Be enrolled in a relevant program (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Child and Family Studies).
- Be available for the full duration of the placement.
- Meet legal and safety requirements:
- Criminal background check
- Child abuse registry check
- Other required regulatory checks
- Interview Process
If eligible, students will be invited for an interview with HR and a program manager to discuss:
- Placement goals and expectations
- Relevant skills and experience
- Alignment with MCFCS’s mission and needs
- Task responsibilities and potential accommodations
- Compliance & Documentation
Before starting, students must:
- Complete all mandatory checks (criminal record, child abuse registry, health clearances).
- Sign required agreements:
- Non-disclosure agreements (NDA)
- Confidentiality agreements
- Placement Agreement & Onboarding
Once selected, students will receive an official Placement Agreement outlining:
- Start and end dates
- Assigned duties and responsibilities
- Supervision and mentorship details
- Performance evaluation process
- Confidentiality and ethical conduct expectations
Orientation & Training:
- Attend an orientation session covering MCFCS policies and procedures.
- Receive training on relevant systems, tools, and safety protocols.
- Meet the team and settle into their designated role.
